For our cross arts this year we are exploring the solar system !!!!! What do you know about our solar system and our planets? As part of our cross arts, 5/6KK, you get to write part of our script !!! We need your help !!! What do you know about the planets ? Write a paragraph of information about any planet of your choice !

JUPITER:
Jupiter is the 5th planet from the sun , it is one of the biggest planets in our solar system. Jupiter has 49 moons and its distance from the sun is 7785000000km.
MERCURY:
Mercury is the closest to the sun that’s why it is soo hot, it has wrinkles and is heavy. Mercury is small and has no moons. One day in Mercury equals to 58 1/2 days on earth.

NEPTUNE-
Neptune is the furthest planet from the sun. It has 13 moons which are called Triton, Nereid, Proteus, Naiad, Larissa, Despina, Thalassa, Galatea, Heso, Halimede, Laomedeia and Sao. It is a gas Planet. It was discovered on the 23rd of September 1846 by Urbain Le Verrier and Johann Galle. It weighs 17.15 earths. It’s surface temperature is -201 degrees celcius. If is the eighth planet in the solar system.
SATURN-
Saturn is the sixth planet from the sun. It is known for its big rings. It is the second largest planet after Jupiter. It has 62 moons and it is the flattest planet. It’s day is 10 hours and 34 minutes long. It’s rings are mostly made of chunks of ice and small amounts of carbonaceous dust.
MERCURY-
Mercury is the smallest and closest planet to the sun. Mercury doesn’t have any known moons and one day on Mercury is the equivalent of 176 earth days. Mercury is the second hottest planet and the second densest planet in our solar system. One year in Mercury is just 88 days long.

Neptune:
Neptune is the eignth planet from the sun. It is the fourth largest, planet and the third largest by mass.
Mars:
Mars is the fourth planet from the sun, and the second smallest planet.mars has two moons.
Sun:
The sun is the star of the solar system. It is by far the most important source of energy for life on Earth

Mars:
Mars is the fourth planet from the sun and it’s the second smallest planet in the solar system after Mercury. The ancient Greeks called the planet ares after their God of war. Mars is know for its red colour due to the rock and dust covering it’s surface being rich in iron.
Venus:
Venus is the second planet from the sun, Venus is the brightest planet in the solar system and can be seen even in daylight if you know where to look. Venus orbits around the sun in 225 days, so a year on Venus is 262 days. Venus is the hottest planet in the solar system even hotter than Mercury which is closer to the sun.
Uranus:
Uranus is the seventh planet from the sun, it was known in accent times unlike the planets from Mercury to Saturn. Uranus orbits the sun lying on its side and takes 84 years to complete the orbit. Most of the centre of Uranus is a frozen mass of ammonia and methane, which gives it the blue-green colour. The atmosphere contains hydrogen and helium, scientists do not yet understand exactly what causes these rings.

Jupiter
Jupiter is the 5th planet from the sun and it is also the biggest planet, it is a giant planet. The radius is 69,911 km and weighs 1,898,130,000,000,000,000 billion kg.the planet has 67 known moons 4 known rings. The planet has the shortest day, it take 9 hours and 55 minutes. Jupiter is the fourth brightest planet and is one of the 5 planets you can see from earth. Jupiter will orbit the sun every 11.8 earth years.
Venus
Venus is the 2nd planet from the sun. It weighs 4,867,320,000,000,000 billion kg and takes 243 days to orbit its axis. Venus and earth are considered sister planets because they are very similar in size and both have a central core. Venus rotates counter clockwise and is the second brightest object in the sky, the moon is the brightest. Venus is also the hottest planet and it has an average of 462 degrees Celsius. Venus was recorded by the Babylonian astronomers.
Neptune
Neptune is the 8th planet from the sun and has an average temperature of negative 201 degrees Celsius. It weighs 102,410,000,000,000,000 billion kg and is the smallest of the ice Giants. The planet was first discovered in September 23rd 1846 and since its not visible to the naked eye it was discovered by mathematical predictions. There has only been one spacecraft that has flown by Neptune.

Did you know Mars is the 4th planet from the sun. Also NASA made a rover for Mars to see what happens on the red planet. Mars in summer has a top of -5c for its temperature.
Did you know Earth is the only planet that has liquid water on it. It also is the only planet in the solar system that has known life on it. It is the third planet from the sun.
Venus is the brightest planet in the solar system also it is the hottest planet. It’s named after the roman goddesses Venus

Neptune:
Neptune is the eighth planet form the sun and the distance from the sun too. This gas giant planet may have formed much closer to the sun in the solar system in the early years.
Mars:
Mars is the fourth planet form the sun named after the roman God of war, as often described as “Red Planet” from it Raddish apperince.
Moon:
The moon was formed 4.6 billion years ago around 30-50 million years after the formation of the solar system.

Mars
Mars, also known as the red planet, is the fourth planet from the sun. The distance from earth to Mars is 225.000.000. One year on Mars is twice as much as one year on earth. But one day on Mars is 39 minutes more than a normal earth day.
Venus
Venus, Also known as the Morning star or the Evening star. It is the second planet from the sun. Venus is one of the most of the hottest planets in the our galaxy, it will be impossible to live there as the temperature could reach up to 462 degrees. People usually call Venus Earths sister because they are very similar in size.
